URS Announces Executive Appointments; Names Judy L. Rodgers Treasurer; David C. Nelson to Head Investor Relations; Thomas J. Lynch Named Vice President of Information Technology

    SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 14, 2005--URS Corporation (NYSE: URS) today announced that it has named Judy L. Rodgers Vice President, Treasurer, effective immediately. In this capacity, Ms. Rodgers will be responsible for Treasury and Tax matters and will report directly to Kent P. Ainsworth, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of URS. Ms. Rodgers will assume the Treasurer responsibilities of David C. Nelson, who has been named Vice President, Investor Relations. In addition, URS announced that it has made Thomas J. Lynch Vice President, Information Technology.
    Commenting on the appointments, Martin M. Koffel, URS Chairman and CEO, said: "I am pleased that Judy has accepted this important role and, on behalf of everyone here at URS, I want to welcome her to the Company. With over 25 years of treasury and tax experience, Judy possesses the depth of experience and perspective that will make her a great asset to our company as we continue to add new resources and talent to our senior management team."
    Mr. Koffel continued: "Over the past several years, as our company and our shareholder base have grown, so has the importance of our investor relations function. We believe now is the appropriate time to allow Dave to focus solely on overseeing our investor relations program. I want to thank Dave for his many contributions as Treasurer, and I look forward to working with him in his new capacity."
    Mr. Koffel added: "I also want to welcome Tom Lynch to his new position as head of information technology. Tom has done an excellent job managing our ERP conversion and will be a welcome addition to our management team as we continue to improve our information technology systems."
    Ms. Rodgers was most recently Senior Vice President, Tax and Treasury and Corporate Treasurer of Celerity Group Inc., where she was responsible for tax and treasury aspects of numerous complex equity and debt financings, consolidations, acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures. In this capacity, Ms. Rodgers also managed the risk management function. Prior to that, Ms. Rodgers worked for Acuson Corporation in positions of increasing responsibility, most recently as Treasurer where she oversaw worldwide tax and treasury operations, and as Director of Tax from 1988 to 1996. From 1982 to 1988, Ms. Rodgers worked for Advanced Micro Devices Inc. as Tax Manager, Compliance and Audits. From 1979 to 1982, Ms. Rodgers was employed at Deloitte Haskins and Sells as Senior Accountant.
    Ms. Rodgers is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.S. in Accounting from San Jose State University, and an MBA from Golden Gate University.
    Prior to joining URS in 1999, Mr. Nelson served as Assistant Treasurer at Seagate Technology, an $8-billion computer peripheral manufacturer. His prior experience includes 11 years at Bristol-Myers Squibb where he held a number of positions in financial management both in the United States and Australia. Mr. Nelson holds an MBA from Cornell University. He has also completed extensive university studies in Tokyo, Japan and Taipei, Taiwan.
    Mr. Lynch is responsible for managing the Company's corporate information technology infrastructure, including global data communications and messaging, Internet access and usage, its corporate web site and employee portal. He has also played a key role in overseeing the Company's ERP conversion. In his new capacity, he will be responsible for overseeing information technology for both the URS and EG&G divisions, as well as for the Company's corporate functions. Prior to joining URS in 1996, Mr. Lynch was the Chief Information Officer for Air & Water Technologies Corporation. He holds an MBA from Northeastern University.
