TSX Down At Open Tuesday

(RTTNews) - Toronto stocks moved down at open Tuesday amid selling across a variety of sectors, with the S&P/TSX Composite Index shedding 49.05 points or 0.36 percent to 13,423.17.

The Global Gold Index was down nearly 2 percent, with Royal Gold (RGL.TO), Barrick Gold (ABX.TO) and Goldcorp. (G.TO) losing around 2 percent each. Detour Gold (DGC.TO) was down over 6 percent, while Eldorado Gold (ELD.TO) losing nearly 4 percent.

Scorpio Gold Corp. (SGN.V) lost about 4 percent after reporting lower third quarter net earnings.

In the oil patch, MEG Energy (MEG.TO), Husky Energy (HSE.TO) and Vermilion Energy (VET.TO) were down around 1 percent each

Meanwhile, Chorus Aviation (CHR_B.TO) jumped nearly 30 percent after confirming successful outcome of benchmarking arbitration with Air Canada.
