TripAdvisor, Inc. Bottom Line Retreats 41% In Q1

(RTTNews) - TripAdvisor, Inc. (TRIP) announced earnings for first quarter that declined compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line totaled $47 million, or $0.32 per share. This was lower than $80 million, or $0.54 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.46 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 3.0% to $352 million. This was down from $363 million last year.
