Trinseo Q2 Profit Tops Estimate

(RTTNews) - Trinseo SA (TSE) reported net income for the second quarter of $0.6 million or $0.02 per share, compared to a net loss of $44.6 million or $1.15 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Excluding items, adjusted net income for the second quarter was $79 million or $1.61 per share, compared to $11 million or $0.28 per share in the prior year quarter.

Net sales for the second quarter fell to $1.03 billion from $1.34 billion a year ago.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $1.58 per share on revenue of $1.08 billion for the second quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
