Tito Vidaurri to Join Bank of America Merrill Lynch as Country Executive of Mexico, Orlando Loera Retires

Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BofA Merrill) today announced that Tito Vidaurri will be joining the firm as country executive of Mexico, upon the retirement of Orlando Loera, the current head of the bank’s Mexican business.

Based in Mexico City, Vidaurri will report directly to Andrea Orcel, executive chairman of global banking and markets, and will join the emerging markets (ex-Asia) executive committee, of which Orcel is president.

Vidaurri, due to join BofA Merrill in April, will be leaving his current position as chief country officer, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Deutsche Bank’s Mexican commercial banking and brokerage businesses.

"We are thrilled that Tito is coming on board,” said Orcel. "Mexico is one of the most important countries in our Latin American footprint and Tito’s management experience and client relationships in the country mean we have a best-in-class successor to Orlando Loera.”

Orcel thanked Loera for his tireless dedication to his role as country manager and throughout his more than 36-year career at BofA Merrill. Loera has held numerous senior positions at the bank, including country manager for Singapore and head of special assets for Latin America.

Vidaurri’s banking and finance career in the U.S. and Latin America spans more than 25 years. He has held his current position at Deutsche Bank for more than four years. Prior to Deutsche, Vidaurri was Morgan Stanley’s head of north Latin American investment banking.
