Titan Participates in Benefit for Hospice Home

Titan Tire Corporation, a subsidiary of Titan International, Inc., recently participated in a fundraising event sponsored by Graham Tire of Fort Dodge, IA to raise money for the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home and the Support the Troops fund.

Graham Tire, a Titan Tire/Goodyear Farm Tire dealership, has sponsored fundraising events for various Fort Dodge organizations the last three years. This year’s event, held June 10-11, offered concession services, a NASCAR race simulator, children’s activities and a silent auction. Titan Tire donated two sets of skid steer tires for the auction.

"Titan Tire Corporation was very generous in the contribution… Each of these sets of skid loader tires from Titan were very popular with the bidders and brought in some friendly competition,” said Mike Dorman, manager of the Fort Dodge location.

The final fundraising effort totaled almost $10,000. The Paula J. Baber Hospice House received $8,500 of the proceeds, and $1,000 was donated to the Support the Troops fund.

The hospice home director, Nadine Schlienz, said she was thrilled when she was approached by Graham Tire sales associate Rick Carle about being a recipient of this year’s proceeds.

"In order to go above and beyond and meet the needs of the patients and family of the hospice home, we rely heavily on donations,” Schlienz commented. "With this money we can go the extra mile and give the people in our home the extra special touches in their life for even the last few days. That really means the world for the families and my staff.”

Skip Sagar, Titan Tire’s manager of sales for Iowa, was impressed with the benefit’s turnout and said, "This is what is great about our job. This type of event is not about selling anything; it’s about getting a community together to support a local cause. Graham Tire has done a great job at this for the last three years, and both Titan and I are proud to be a part of such a giving community.”
