Time Warner Telecom Strengthens Business Continuity and Security Capab

SEATTLE, May 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Time Warner Telecom , a leading provider of managed voice and data networking solutions for businesses in Washington and 21 other states, today announced the successful installation of Ethernet Internet, Extended and Native LAN data communication services at Panasonic Avionics Corporation located in Bothell, Washington. Time Warner Telecom is delivering the high-speed communications services to Panasonic Avionics Corporation under terms of a five-year contract.

Panasonic Avionics Corporation is connecting its main data center in Bothell with the company's corporate and engineering offices in Lake Forest, California using Time Warner Telecom's 10 Mbps Ethernet Extended Native LAN service. Panasonic Avionics Corporation is also using 1 Gbps circuits between Time Warner Telecom's colocation space and its headquarters in Bothell. IT managers opted to deploy a redundant Time Warner Telecom 10 Mbps Ethernet Internet connection to further boost application availability for end users.

Panasonic Avionics Corporation, a world supplier of entertainment and communications systems for transportation vehicles, contracted the new services to economically upgrade its business continuity capability in support of global operations. The firm also contracted co-location space at a secure Time Warner Telecom facility to accommodate substantial infrastructure growth. The bulk of Panasonic Avionics' worldwide computing infrastructure and corporate applications, including Oracle ERP and mail processing, reside in the hardened environment.
