The Blonds Debut Collection Inspired by NBC Universal Feature Film, The Mummy, at NYFW Fall/Winter 2017

NEW YORK, Feb. 16, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- On February 14^th, at Skylight Clarkson Square, designers Phillipe and David Blond debuted their dazzling Fall/Winter 2017 collection inspired by the upcoming NBC Universal film, The Mummy. Partnering with Preciosa Crystal Components, The Blonds' mystical show mesmerised viewers with a juxtaposition of hard ornamentation and voluminous fabrics.

The collection was presented with an overarching theme of duality – fantasy versus reality, past versus present. Seventeen of the extravagant looks incorporated Preciosa crystals with some the signature corsets weighing in at 15 pounds. The final look, worn by Phillipe Blond as The Mummy, featured head to toe crystal embellishment. In total, more than 30,000 crystals weighing 40 pounds were used in this collection.

The Blonds experimented with tone on tone color as well.
