Steve Arnold, Chairman of Teaching Channel, said, "The Board of Teaching Channel has been focused on the sustainability of the company's mission. After careful consideration of the philanthropic and market landscapes, including the advantages which could accrue to a for-profit entity, we concluded the best way to advance the mission and its sustainability was a transition to a for-profit organization. We are pleased the management team has been able to lead the acquisition."

George Lichter, CEO of Teaching Channel, Inc., said, "This is an exciting time for the company. Teaching Channel is a beloved brand, trusted by educators to provide thoughtfully curated, immediately useful resources and teacher-centric, video-based professional development. Our mission remains unchanged, but our ambition for achieving it has grown. We will continue to expand our video library and services to our registered users and visitors to teachingchannel.org, and we will enhance our professional development and learning platform to school districts, foundations, and other partners."

Investors included Weld North and members of the management team.
