TCS In Race To Acquire Dell's Perot Systems

(RTTNews) - Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has joined the bidding process to acquire Dell's IT management business, Perot System, the Economic Times reported, citing people familiar with the matter. Until now, Dell has received bids from TCS, Cognizant, NTT Data Corp and Atos SE.

Dell had been seeking more than $5 billion (Rs. 33,140 crore) for Perot Systems at a time when India's $146-billion IT industry is facing a slowdown in growth with top clients cutting spends on technology or taking up software projects in-house.

It was said that Dell is not getting the price it wants considering that the value of Perot's business had depreciated over the years amid large scale technology shifts.
