Tableau Software Q3 Results Top View; Stock Surges

(RTTNews) - Tableau Software (DATA) reported that its GAAP net loss for the third quarter of 2015 widened to $13.4 million or $0.19 per share, from $4.6 million, or $0.07 per share, for the third quarter of 2014.

DATA closed Thursday trading at $84.39, down $3.42 or 3.89%. However, in after hours, the stock gained $16.11 or 19.09%.

Non-GAAP net income was $10.6 million or $0.14 per share, compared to a non-GAAP net income of $3.9 million or $0.05 per share last year. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.07 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total revenue increased 64% to $170.8 million, up from $104.5 million in the third quarter of 2014. Wall Street expected revenues of $157.74 million for the quarter. License revenue increased 57% to $109.5 million, up from $69.8 million in the third quarter of 2014. International revenue grew to $42.2 million, up 75%, from $24.1 million in the third quarter of 2014.
