Super Micro Computer Q2 Profit Rises

(RTTNews) - Super Micro Computer Inc. (SMCI), Tuesday reported second-quarter net income of $13.3 million or $0.30 per share, up from $4.98 million or $0.11 per share last year.

Adjusted net income for the quarter was $15.9 million or $0.35 per share, compared to $7.8 million or $0.18 per share last year. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.26 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Second-quarter net sales rose 22.3 percent to $356.4 million from $291.5 million last year. Analysts estimated sales of $333.5 million for the quarter.

Moving ahead, the company expects sales of $320 million to $350 million and adjusted earnings of about $0.24 to $0.30 for the third quarter. Analysts currently estimate earnings of $0.25 and revenues of $317.36 million for the quarter.
