Stone Energy Q4 Profit Plunges

(RTTNews) - Stone Energy Corp. (SGY) Monday reported fourth-quarter net income of $1.8 million or $0.04 per share, compared to $44.2 million or $0.89 per share in the same period last year.

Stone earned fourth quarter 2013 adjusted net income of $27.3 million, or $0.56 per share.

On average, 12 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.57 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total operating revenue declined to $239.25 million from $254.87 million last year, while eight analysts expected revenues of $245.50 million.
