Steve J. Hotte Named to Senior Vice President of Information Technolog

WILKES-BARRE, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 4, 2005--Southern Union Company ("Southern Union" or the "Company") (NYSE:SUG) today announced the appointment of Steve J. Hotte to senior vice president of information technology for the Company. In this position, Hotte will be responsible for company wide information technology functions and strategies.
Thomas F. Karam, president and COO of Southern Union, stated, "Steve is a great asset to our senior management team. With IT at the heart of our current and future integration plans, he is the right person to drive the effort."
Since November 2004, Hotte has served as senior vice president of information technology for Southern Union's pipeline operations, including the Panhandle Energy companies and CrossCountry Energy, which it acquired in November 2004 from Enron Corporation and its affiliates ("Enron") through CCE Holdings, LLC - a joint venture partnership.
In May 2000, Hotte joined Enron to lead the Enron Transportation Services information technology team and was promoted to vice president and chief information officer of this group in July 2000. In the fall of 2001, he was also given responsibility for Enron's corporate information technology team.
Hotte earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in qualitative business from the University of Pittsburgh. He resides in Houston, Texas.
