Stephanie Alexander Joins MedAssets Leadership Team as President, Performance Analytics
MedAssets, Inc. (NASDAQ: MDAS) announced today that Stephanie Alexander has joined the MedAssets executive leadership team as President, Performance Analytics. She will lead MedAssets Performance Analytics initiatives in clinical and operational performance and benchmarking. As organizations prepare for the impact of reform legislation, healthcare leaders will need actionable information to drive sustained performance. Providers need to manage in new reimbursement models where current incentives will be realigned, additional risk will be managed, and reimbursement structures will require collaboration and shared risk amongst providers.

Stephanie comes to MedAssets with over 25 years of experience in healthcare performance improvement and informatics. She is recognized internationally for her work in standardized performance measurements for hospitals and health systems and value-based purchasing (Pay for Performance). Stephanie served as a member of the Institute of Medicine’s Board of Healthcare Services Pay for Performance Sub-Committee; a judge for the AHA’s Quest for Quality Award; and served on multiples committees for the National Quality Forum.
Most recently, Stephanie served as the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Premier’s Healthcare Informatics business. While at Premier, she pioneered the development of Premier’s Perspective™ system, and then merged it with the CareScience database making it the largest clinical benchmarking database of its kind in the U.S. Stephanie also served as the Executive Sponsor of the CMS Hospital Quality Improvement Demonstration (HQID) project, a first of its kind initiative to determine whether financial incentives are effective at improving the quality of inpatient hospital care. She provided executive oversight for the Advancing Quality initiative in the Northwest region of the National Health Service in the U.K., a program modeled after HQID.
