Spanish Broadcasting System Launches New U.S. Hispanic Television Channel; Mega TV Channel 22 Will Leverage SBS Proprietary Content to Fuel Growth

Spanish Broadcasting System, Inc. ("SBS") (NASDAQ:SBSA)today announced the launch of Mega TV Channel 22 (WSBS-TV), theCompany's television debut in the South Florida market. Mega TV willshowcase a rich programming lineup featuring televised versions ofsome of Miami's top radio shows, a daring debate show, dance and musiccontests, reality and entertainment shows and an interactive spy gameshow, to name but a few of the genres that will begin airing thisweek.

"The launch of Mega TV reflects our long term vision of creatingmultiple branded entertainment channels that will further unlock thesubstantial value of our proprietary content," said Raul Alarcon, Jr.,Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SBS. "This contentconsistently generates substantial audience shares in the nation'slargest Hispanic markets. SBS credits part of its success as an entertainment leader to itslong-standing relationships with some of the top artists andentertainers in the Hispanic market, which it hopes to leverage in itsexpansion into television. "SBS has enjoyed the incredible support ofthe country's top Hispanic musical talent, record labels, promotersand business partners for many years," added Alarcon. A private launchparty in honor of the on-air talent, artists, celebrities and industryveterans that have assisted SBS throughout its twenty-three yearhistory has been scheduled for March 4th.

"Mega TV provides an opportunity for SBS to revolutionize the U.S.Hispanic television industry by delivering fresh content that isrelevant and reflective of the modern-day Hispanic TV viewer," saidCynthia Hudson Fernandez, Executive Vice President and Chief CreativeOfficer for SBS. Along with Mega TV, Ms. Hudson will also oversee the rebrandingand expansion of the SBS New Media unit, which currently includes overa dozen local radio station websites as well as its main portal,http://www.lamusica.com and the newly inaugurated http://www.mega.tv .The intention is to position SBS as a multimedia powerhouse withstrategic holdings in radio, television, the internet, concertpromotion and the creation, production and distribution of brandedentertainment.

El Vacilon:

The #1 radio show in Miami is the inspiration for this hilariouscomedy half-hour where Enrique Santos and Joe Ferrero bring theirraucous brand of humor, which has racked up unprecedented ratings, toTV. Comedy, irreverence, creativity and a fresh production style willmake "El Vacilon" a favorite in Miami. Enrique and Joe will surpriseus with sketches, parodies, hidden-camera pranks and other surprisesegments that will leave viewers begging for more! Mon-Thurs 9:30PM.

Zona Cero:

Few phenomena are as surprising and intense as Javier Ceriani andOmar Moynelo as evidenced by their radio show, part of the SBS one-twopunch on Miami mornings. Omar's magnetic personality and intelligencehave made him one of the most respected radio and televisionpersonalities in Miami. Javier is one of the best-informedentertainment critics and his caustic comments never fail to delightthe audience. Together they will present an hour full of news,interviews, skits and unscripted situations that could only happen on"Zona Cero." Mon-Fri 10:00PM.

El NotiCero:

Presented as a short daily segment within "Zona Cero" everyweekday, this tongue-in-cheek newscast will also be a full half hourweekend program. "El NotiCero" will present the "real" truth the othernewscasts are too afraid to report, reminding us that fact is often alot funnier than fiction! Sun 7:30PM.

LaMusica.com:

"LaMusica.com" will showcase celebrity gossip, entertainment news,movie premieres and more. Anything and everything in the world ofmusic and entertainment will be featured on "LaMusica.com", includinginterviews with artists and celebrities. Woven into every aspect ofthe program is a focused, yet unobtrusive, product integrationstrategy allowing sponsors to place their products and logos in fullview of this young, hip, early adopter audience. Mon-Fri 5 to 7:00PM.

Polos Opuestos:

Renowned Hispanic journalist Maria Elvira Salazar is back with herown signature show and a Mega TV original production. "Polos Opuestos"is a hybrid debate/game show highlighting opposing viewpoints ontoday's controversial issues and events. Multiple Emmy award-winningjournalist Salazar will tackle those polemic and divisive issues thather colleagues dare not expose. Her original format consists of twoopposing three-member expert panels attempting to convince theaudience of the validity of their point of view. The audience votesfor the "winning" panel and determines the awarding of a cash prize.Starts April 3rd.

Dimelo Bailando:

The dance contest takes center stage as we witness local couplesvying for the crown as South Florida's top dancers. "Dimelo Bailando"is about passion, skill, rhythm and the desire (and talent!) to be thevery best. Each week 10 couples start elimination trials until onlyone remains as the pulse-pounding competition reaches its zenithduring finals. The final week brings all the champions back for atournament that's bound to have everyone on the edge of their seatswondering who will win the ultimate prize! Alternating weekdays at10:00PM.

Oye Mi Canto:

A talent competition open to anyone wishing to express theirpassion for singing and music. At the beginning of each show, ourtalent-hunters will search the city, looking for contestants. The star"wannabes" chosen for the show will be taken to a nearby stage, whereeach one will sing "karaoke" style in front of a live audience andthree very opinionated judges. 22 Minutos:

In just twenty two minutes, counted down on screen, Claudia G willtake you places that will mystify while introducing you to incrediblyfascinating people. Some guests are famous, some are not, but all ofthem are, in a word, mesmerizing. On "22 Minutos" you will travel tosome of the most unusual places and events imaginable. Claudia G maybe in the Florida Everglades feeding an albino alligator one day andin Hollywood the next covering a TV executive who left the hustle andbustle behind to become a Buddhist monk. Mon-Fri 7:30PM.

El Circulo:

Once a week El Nuevo Herald's society editor Ana Remos highlightsthe hottest parties, the most extravagant homes, private planes,yachts, boutiques and extracurricular hobbies of South Florida'ssocial scene. Filmed on location at some of the region's mostexclusive sites, "El Circulo" will also introduce the viewer toMiami's glitterati as they take us through a tour of their world andshow us what it's like to be part of the "in-crowd." Tues 9:00PM.

Puerta Astral:

Mauricio Puerta is unlike any astrologer you've ever met. He skipsthe costumes and long flowing robes, opting instead for a businesssuit. Breaking further with tradition, Mr. Puerta does not believe inhoroscopes! He says that only a detailed astrological chart tailoredfor a specific situation or person can be truly effective and hisclients run the gamut from heads of state to international jet-setcelebrities. Now he brings his unique talents to Mega TV in "PuertaAstral". Thurs 9:00PM.

Entre Fichas:

In the Latino and, especially, in the Cuban home, "Dominoes" meansa lot more than just a game. Passion, strategy, pride and livelyconversation are some of the many aspects of an exciting ritual thatunites generations and creates lifetime bonds. "Entre Fichas" takesthis exciting game and brings it to television in a format similar to"World Series Poker" with commentary from experts, play-by-playanalysis, and all the fun and conversation that can only happen aroundthe classic domino table. Fri 9:00PM.

Complot:

Spy vs. spy intrigue comes to your home as one of the mostinnovative game shows on television! Four would-be spies try to solvepuzzles under the watchful eye of Agent Cero and his beautifullieutenant Sombra as they try to survive their first assignment. Butit won't be easy as Cero and Sombra put them through the paces andviewers wait for clues that will allow them to share in the winner'sprize! If a viewer guesses the contestant's identity via SMS phonemessaging, he or she will receive half the winnings! Starts April 1st.

Mega Musicales:

SBS is music and Mega TV brings that legacy to television through"sold out" concerts and "unplugged" events recorded live with some ofthe biggest stars including Shakira, Daddy Yankee and others.
