Soft Drinks Gone From Burger King's Kids Menu

(RTTNews) - Burger King has stopped advertising sugary drinks on its kids menu, joining other fast food rivals such as McDonald's in pushing healthier options for its youngest customers.

In a story first reported by USA, Burger King will replace sodas with fat-free milk, low-fat chocolate milk and apple juice in Burger King Kids Meals.

Customers wanting soft drinks instead will need to specifically order them, as they will only be advertised on the regular menu.

Burger King made the change, "as part of our ongoing effort to offer our guests options that match lifestyle needs," said Alex Macedo, president of Burger King North America, in an e-mailed statement to USA TODAY.
