Society for Information Display and Cowen and Company Unveil Agenda for 5th Annual Investors Conference to Be Held During Display Week 2009

The Society for Information Display (SID), the leading global organization dedicated to the advancement of electronic display technology, together with Cowen and Company, a global investment banking firm with a focus on growth sectors and a dedicated practice in display and emerging technologies, today unveiled the agenda for the 5th Annual Investors Conference, which will be held Tuesday, June 2, as part of the 47th annual SID International Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition, dubbed Display Week 2009, in San Antonio, Texas. This year’s conference features an impressive lineup of presentations from more than 20 public and private display technology and supply chain companies, along with high-profile keynote addresses from Corning and Samsung. Designed for securities analysts, portfolio managers, venture investors, M&A specialists and display company executives, the Investors Conference offers a valuable forum for educating the investment community on the boundless opportunities afforded by existing and emerging display technologies.

"The display industry continues to generate considerable interest among investors, given the proliferation of displays throughout our everyday lives. Displays are everywhere, enabling huge businesses in mobile phones, televisions and computer systems, and emerging categories such as smart phones, digital signage and electronic books,” stated Dr. Paul Drzaic, president of SID. "Ongoing advancements in existing technologies such as LCD, plasma and projection displays, together with new achievements in OLED displays, 3D displays, touch interfaces, flexible displays and green technologies will be driving the profits of the future. True to our charter of being a premier source of authoritative information on electronic-display technology, this conference—coupled with the other events being held during Display Week—not only will provide attendees with a comprehensive look at how our industry is a hotbed for innovation, but also raise the visibility of the companies leading the charge in our economic recovery.”

Commenting on this year’s conference, Josh Epstein, who leads Cowen’s focus on Digital Media and Emerging Technologies, notes, "We have an extraordinary lineup of participating companies and keynote presentations at this year’s event. As a leading growth investment firm focused on the display sector, we’ve worked hard to ensure that this year’s agenda delivers keen insight from companies representing all facets of the display chain. This conference is simply a ‘must-attend’ for anyone interested in learning more about current and future investment opportunities associated with this dynamic market.”

The Investors Conference will be broken out into two sessions that will run concurrently on June 2. The 22 participating private and public companies are: eMagin, E Ink, Hillcrest Labs, Intematix, Immersion Corp., Kopin Corp., Liquavista, Luminus Devices, Microvision, Novaled, N-trig, Oree, Pixel Qi, Pixtronix, QD Vision, RPO, Inc., Sumitomo Chemical, Supertex, Syndiant Inc., Uni-Pixel, Universal Display Corp. and YLX Corp. Slated to deliver the luncheon keynote presentation will be Dr. Peter Bocko, chief technology officer, East Asia for Corning Inc., who will speak on "Looking Back, Looking Ahead: A Quarter Century of Market Leadership in LCD and the Challenges Ahead.” The Investors Conference will wrap up with a keynote address by Dr. Jun Souk, senior technical advisor for Samsung Electronics, who will speak on the future opportunities in the display industry from Samsung’s perspective. Immediately following the conference, all attendees are invited to join a networking reception with the presenting companies held from 5 to 7 p.m.

The final agenda for the Investors Conference is available at www.sid.org/conf/sid2009/investors.pdf. The price for the Investors Conference is $195 ($125 when combined with the Display Week Business Conference). This includes a continental breakfast, lunch, refreshments, an evening networking reception, access to both the Exhibit Hall and the Symposium’s Keynote Session on Tuesday morning prior to the start of the Investment Conference, along with a copy of the Investors Conference notes.

Display Week 2009 will take place Sunday, May 31 through Friday, June 5, 2009 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.
