    Sierra Wireless AirCard 775 wireless wide area network card is the EDGE card of choice for the Dutch network operator

    Sierra Wireless and Telfort today announced that the AirCard(R) 775 wireless wide area network card is now available to Telfort customers in the Netherlands. With quad-band operation for global roaming on EDGE (Enhanced Data rates for Global Evolution) and GSM/GPRS networks, the AirCard 775 provides mobile users with quick, wireless connectivity to the Internet, e-mail and corporate applications. The AirCard 775 is available in Telfort shops, online at www.telfort.nl, as well as from resellers selling Telfort subscriptions, and will be supplied at no extra charge to customers who purchase a two-year subscription at EUR 30 per month.

    About the size of a credit card, the Sierra Wireless AirCard 775 is a multi-slot Class 12 EDGE PC card, ideal for mobile professionals who are heavy data users and those who travel frequently. The quad-band operation (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) also enables worldwide roaming on EDGE and GSM/GPRS networks, allowing travelers to access data wirelessly in more than 70 countries with GPRS service, and 30 countries where EDGE is available. On an EDGE network, the AirCard 775 allows users to transfer data at speeds averaging between 100 and 130 kilobits per second (kbps), with bursts up to 216 kbps. The included Sierra Wireless Watcher software makes the card simple to install, configure, and use, seamlessly integrating the card into a variety of Windows notebook or handheld devices and allowing users to send and receive SMS messages and voice calls while accessing email and Internet applications. The AirCard 775 is designed for low power consumption to extend battery life.
