Select Comfort Now Sees Q4 EPS Below Guidance
(RTTNews) - Select Comfort Corp. (SCSS), manufacturer of Sleep Number bed as well as foundations and bedding accessories, Monday said it now expects fourth-quarter earnings below their outlook range, citing lower-than-expected sales from Cyber Monday through December end.
Shelly Ibach, president and CEO said, "The sales slowdown following the Thanksgiving holiday reflected a tepid retail holiday shopping season. We expect this challenging environment to continue in 2014 and are planning accordingly."
The company said it now expects fourth-quarter EPS to be below the guidance range of $0.18-$0.26. Eight analysts polled by Thomson-Reuters estimate EPS to be $0.22.
Preliminary net sales for the 3-month period grew by 5 percent to $231 million. The Street expects $241.67 million in sales.
Currently, the stock is trading in the pre-market hours down 13.35%, or $2.85, at $18.50 on the Nasdaq.
