ScottsMiracle-Gro To Buy Tomcat Consumer Rodent Control Business - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Lawn and garden care products maker Scotts Miracle-Gro Co. (SMG) has inked a deal with Bell Laboratories, Inc. to acquire the Tomcat consumer rodent control business for undisclosed terms. The transaction includes the Tomcat brand, and a long-term partnership to bring innovative technologies to the consumer rodent control market.

The Tomcat consumer business integration is likely to be accretive to ScottsMiracle-Gro's operating margin beginning in fiscal 2014. In addition to research and development, Bell Laboratories would continue performing regulatory and manufacturing functions for the Tomcat brand, according to the company.

Tomcat consumer products are sold at home centers and mass retailers, as well as grocery, drug and general merchandise stores across the U.S. and Canada, further to Europe and Australia/New Zealand.
