Satyam Pioneers Enterprise Services Architecture (ESA) Adoption, Launc
BANGALORE, India, May 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Satyam Computer Services Limited , a Global Consulting and IT Services company, today announced the launch of its Enterprise Services Architecture (ESA) service offering as part of its SAP Practice. ESA is SAP's blueprint for services- oriented architecture and is powered by SAP NetWeaver(TM) -- a comprehensive open integration and application platform from SAP.
With this launch Satyam has reasserted its leadership among offshore SAP service providers and has become the first amongst Indian offshore players to identify the importance of ESA and embrace it.
Enterprise Services Architecture enables organizations to be innovative, flexible and agile in adapting to the changes in the market by increasing the focus on business processes and building adaptability into this basic building block of an organization.
A large percentage of the current (nearly 25,000) and future customers of SAP are expected to adopt SAP NetWeaver / ESA over the next few years and the market potential for SAP ESA promises to be huge.
"Our partners have been looking for a practical approach to transforming IT infrastructures into powerful enablers of business agility and change, and ESA is the answer. Satyam has been one of our key partners for NetWeaver ramp- up activities globally. We are happy to see them so successfully working with their customers to help them create adaptive IT landscapes on SAP NetWeaver that quickly reflect changes in business processes for competitive advantage", said Simon Dale, Vice President, SAP NetWeaver/BPP, SAP Asia-Pacific.
This service offering would help Satyam's SAP customers adapt to change, improve their competitive edge and at the same time leverage IT investments.
ESA typically comprises of three fundamental layers: Composite and analytical applications; SAP NetWeaver(TM) as composition platform; and the Enterprise Services providing Web-services-based access to fundamental objects and functionality.
Satyam: Breaking new grounds with ESA and SAP NetWeaver(TM)
Satyam believes that ESA would power businesses into the future by transforming IT from being a support unit to a strategic unit. The company has charted out a well-planned roadmap to build on ESA competencies and deliver value to its customers.
The Satyam ESA offering will provide enterprise-wide business solutions that are adaptable and open for lower total cost of ownership. These solutions would be designed to deliver business value, taking into account that company's business processes tend to reflect the changes in the market in order to stay competitive.
Speaking of the road ahead Manish Mehta, Director and Senior Vice President - SAP, ADMS, Satyam said, "Enterprises need to take a new approach allowing flexibility and adaptability in the way their businesses are run. We believe that SAP ESA is the future for enabling such an approach. Satyam's adoption of SAP ESA will help address the ever increasing demand for flexibility in Enterprise Solutions. Our ESA offerings, will help SAP customers reap significant benefits from both their existing and future IT investments. This will also further strengthen our partnership with SAP AG".
In an effort to strengthen its offshore leadership in SAP, Satyam had established a SAP NetWeaver(TM) Centre of Excellence (CoE) last year. Further, Satyam has already created a specialized team of SAP NetWeaver(TM) trained consultants and has plans to expand the team further in the coming months. The company has also already successfully undertaken various SAP NetWeaver(TM) engagements in sectors such as Telecom, Banking, Hi-Tech and Retail. Incidentally, Satyam's SAP NetWeaver(TM) practice is credited with the success of being the first to take a global customer onto the NetWeaver -- 04 platform.
The SAP NetWeaver(TM) CoE will also soon host a dedicated ESA lab in order to help customers assess, implement and realize the potential offered by ESA.
With a practice size of nearly 2000 consultants, Satyam's SAP Solution Practice is not only the largest ERP practice with in Satyam, but also the largest SAP Solution Practice amongst Indian Offshore players.
