Ruder Finn Launches New Specialty Practice Focused Exclusively on Healthtech: Bloom Health
NEW YORK, April 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Ruder Finn today announced the launch of Bloom Health, an integrated communications practice exclusively dedicated to the growing and rapidly-evolving healthtech sector. Bloom Health is designed to support companies at the intersection of science, healthcare and technology that are creating and leveraging digital tools to transform the practice of medicine, the development of new therapies, and the delivery and consumption of healthcare. To spearhead the new offering within its incubator transmedia agency Bloom, Ruder Finn brought on Nicole Pariser as Senior Vice President of Health Technology.
Building on Ruder Finn's deep global expertise and established capabilities in healthcare and technology, Bloom Health offers both B2B and consumer specialization to help clients create and communicate a compelling vision; navigate a complex, rapidly-evolving marketplace and reach their potential. The practice will focus on digitization and new technologies for: patient engagement, disease management and prevention; medical research and clinical trial innovation; and healthcare delivery and distribution.
"The unprecedented convergence is creating new opportunities for patients," said Ruder Finn CEO Kathy Bloomgarden. "With Bloom Health, we're building a nimble, entrepreneurial team with first-hand experience in dealing with the nuances of both healthcare and technology. We can help tech companies better navigate the communication complexities of a highly sensitive and regulated healthcare ecosystem, while helping biopharma and healthcare interests engage and communicate in a tech and startup universe. We are excited to bring on Nicole to overcome conventional communications boundaries and meet client needs in this new healthtech space."
Pariser joins Bloom from Medidata, the leading global provider of cloud-based solutions for clinical research, where she was the Director of Global Public Relations. She established and led Medidata's first international PR function, scaling an integrated program across offices in the US, Asia and Europe. As part of her role, she supported the company's pioneering mobile health (mHealth) initiatives, including key collaborations with pharmaceutical companies, CROs, academic medical centers and device manufacturers, positioning Medidata as the technology leader in the space and the authority on incorporating wearables, sensors and apps into the highly structured world of clinical trials. Prior to Medidata, Pariser worked in corporate communications, managing both internal and external programs, at inVentiv Health, Goldman Sachs and Pfizer.
"It's a thrill to join Bloom and be part of the innovative Ruder Finn team building meaningful programs for healthcare and technology companies around the world," Pariser said. "Advances in technology and the ability to turn data into actionable insights are enabling more quantitative and continuous measures of people's health, bringing us closer to the promise of digital medicine. However, to realize this promise, new technologies must be integrated into highly-regulated healthcare processes, a complex undertaking that requires scientific rigor, time and, often, a significant shift in strategy and structure. At Bloom, we understand these unique challenges and opportunities, and we're excited to partner with established and emerging healthtech leaders to tell the stories behind the incredible innovations and life-changing benefits that new technologies deliver, while helping to grow a commercial market around them."
