Riverbed Technology Reports Q3 EPS In Line; Guides Q4 Below Consensus

(RTTNews) - Riverbed Technology, Inc. (RVBD) reported net income for the third quarter of $11.5 million or $0.07 per share, compared to $3.8 million or $0.02 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Excluding items, adjusted net income for the third quarter was $48.7 million or $0.30 per share, compared to $43.3 million or $0.26 per share in the prior year quarter.

Revenue for the third quarter rose 6% to $276.37 million from $261.72 million a year ago, while adjusted revenue for the quarter rose 4% to $276.67 million from $264.97 million last year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.30 per share on revenue of $279.05 million for the third quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Looking forward to the fourth quarter, the company forecasts adjusted revenue of $285 million to $290 million and adjusted earnings of $0.31 to $0.33 per share. Analysts currently expect the company to earn $0.35 per share on revenue of $298.41 million for the fourth quarter.
