Republic Airways, Frontier Airlines August Traffic Down - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Republic Airways Holdings (RJET) reported preliminary passenger traffic results for August 2013. The Company generated approximately 1.8 billion revenue passenger miles or RPMs, a decrease of 4% from August 2012, on a 3% reduction in available seat miles or ASMs.

Block hours were 4% greater than the same period in 2012. Consolidated load factor was 85%, down 1% from August 2012.

Republic Airways carried 3% more passengers in August than in the same period in 2012.

Separately, Frontier Airlines, a subsidiary of Republic Airways Holdings, reported preliminary traffic results for August 2013. Frontier's total system revenue passenger miles decreased 16% to 0.9 billion RPMs on a 17% reduction in available seat miles.

Frontier Airlines served about 1.0 million passengers in August, a 15% reduction from the same period last year.

But, Frontier's total system load factor increased to 93%, from 92% in August 2012.
