Report: SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son Meets Banks To Fund For T-Mobile Bid
(RTTNews) - SoftBank Corp (SFTBF.PK, SFTBY.PK), Chief Executive Officer Masayoshi Son discussed with banks such as Credit Suisse Group AG (CS), Mizuho Bank Ltd. and Goldman Sachs Group Inc.(GS) to get financing for Sprint Corp. (S) to buy the majority of T-Mobile US Inc. (TMUS) in 2014, according to Bloomberg.
People familiar with the matter said, that Son has also met with Deutsche Bank AG (DB) and JPMorgan Chase & Co.(JPM), while receiving advice from the Raine Group LLC.
The report noted that the Son's discussions with banks are at an early stage, the feedback so far is that the money is available.
The plan would be to take control of T-Mobile by paying cash for the 67 percent stake owned by Deutsche Telekom AG (DTEGY.PK) and Sprint would then be integrated with T-Mobile, the report specified.
Deutsche Telekom hasn't held any talks with Son or Sprint on its stake in T-Mobile, report stated.
