Reliance Steel & Aluminum Reports 4% Increase In Q2 Profit

(RTTNews) - Reliance Steel & Aluminum (RS) reported earnings for its second quarter that climbed from last year.

The company said its bottom line totaled $103.1 million, or $1.40 per share. This was up from $99.5 million, or $1.36 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.37 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 12.7% to $2.48 billion. This was up from $2.20 billion last year.
