Rebecca Hierholzer is recognized by Continental Who's Who
KANSAS CITY, Mo., Feb. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Rebecca Hierholzer, M.D., M.B.A., F.A.C.E.P. is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a 2016 Woman of The Year as a result of her role as the Chief Executive Officer of the Collection of Victim Evidence Regarding Sexual Assault (COVERSA).
COVERSA's mission is to improve the collection of forensic evidence, provide acute interventional services, to collaborate with legal and judicial Representatives and to provide education to the community regarding sexual assault issues. Its vision and goal is to be the premier provider of forensic nursing services in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area.
The nonprofit currently provides services at North Kansas City Hospital, Centerpoint Medical Center, St. Joseph Health Center, Cass Regional Hospital, Ray County Hospital, Lafayette Regional Hospital, Liberty Hospital, Research Medical Center, Belton Medical Center, Overland Park Medical Center, Olathe Medical Center, Excelsior Springs Medical Center, Lees Summit Medical Center and Western Missouri Medical Center.
Dr. Hierholzer's expertise is in providing services to victims of sexual abuse. She is COVERSA's original founder, and served as the organization's founder until January of this year when a new founder was since elected.
Additionally, Dr. Hierholzer serves as an Emergency Physician at Morningstar Emergency Physicians of Team Health. To further her professional development, she is a member of the Kansas City Medical Society, the American Medical Association, the Missouri State Medical Association (MSMA) and represents the MSMA as an AMA Delegate. She also belongs to the Kansas and Missouri American College of Emergency Physicians, the American College of Emergency Physicians, the International Association of Forensic Nurses,the Kansas City Coalition Against Human Trafficking, as well as KCIRSA (Kansas City Interdisciplinary Response to Sexual Assault), the National Association of Professional Women, Leading Physicians of the World and Worldwide Association of Notable Alumni (2016).
Dr. Hierholzer earned both her Bachelor of Arts degree and her Medical degree from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, and also holds a Masters of Business Administration degree in Healthcare from the American Intercontinental University. She is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and a Clinical Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine through the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Medicine.
Over the course of her professional career, Dr. Hierholzer has earned several industry certifications and honors. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Awards include the Who's Who Diamond Award, the Emergency Physician of the Year (2010) by the Missouri Emergency Nurses Association, VIP Woman of the Year (2012) by the National Association of Professional Women, Physician of the Year (2012) by Continental Who's Who, Rising Star (2014) by Non-Profit Connect, Member of the Year (2014) by Bristol Who's Who, Woman of Outstanding Leadership (2014) by the International Women's Leadership Association and Community Service Award (2015) from the Kansas City Medical Society.
