Pre-market Movers For May 18 (ANN, ASNA, ALTR, INTC, ENDP, EBIO, BABA)

ANN INC. (ANN) is jumping 22 percent to $47.23. Ascena Retail Group, Inc. (ASNA) has agreed to acquire ANN for a combination of cash and stock in an accretive transaction. ANN stockholders will receive $37.34 in cash and 0.68 of a share of Ascena common stock in exchange for each share. ASNA is up 9 percent to $15.50.

Altera Corp. (ALTR) is gaining 6 percent to $47.30 amidst reports that talks about a possible buyout by Intel Corp. (INTC) have resumed. INTC is up three tenths of a percent to $33.07.

Endo International plc (ENDP) is gaining half a percent to $85.75 following its announcement to acquire privately held Par Pharmaceutical Holdings, Inc. from TPG in a transaction valued at $8.05 billion, including the assumption of Par's debt.

Decliners:

Eleven Biotherapeutics, Inc. (EBIO) is plunging 72 percent to $3.26 based on the news that its pivotal Phase 3 study of EBI-005 in patients with moderate to severe dry eye disease did not achieve primary endpoints.

Alibaba Group Holding Limited (BABA) is down 1 percent to $87.58 amidst reports that French luxury goods company Kering SA (PPRUY.PK, PPRUF.PK) has filed a lawsuit in the U.S. claiming that Alibaba and its associated companies "knowingly encourage, assist, and profit from the sale of counterfeits on their online platforms."
