Praxair Inc Q3 Profit Declines 12%

(RTTNews) - Praxair Inc (PX) announced earnings for third quarter that dropped from last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $419 million, or $1.46 per share. This was down from $477 million, or $1.62 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.45 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 14.3% to $2.69 billion. This was down from $3.14 billion last year.
