Praxair Inc Q1 Income Drops 12%

(RTTNews) - Praxair Inc (PX) released earnings for first quarter that decreased compared to the same period last year.

The company said its earnings totaled $366 million, or $1.28 per share. This was lower than $416 million, or $1.43 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.27 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 9.1% to $2.51 billion. This was down from $2.76 billion last year.
