Piedmont Natural Gas Posts Wider Q3 Loss; Reaffirms FY15 Earnings Guidance

(RTTNews) - Piedmont Natural Gas (PNY) reported a third-quarter loss of $8.3 million, or $0.10 per share, compared to a loss of $7.3 million, or $0.09 per share for the same period in 2014.

On average, seven analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a loss per share of $0.07 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Operating revenues decreased to $158.27 million from $164.19 million, a year ago. Analysts expected revenue of $173.29 million for the quarter.

Piedmont Natural Gas reaffirmed fiscal 2015 earnings guidance of $1.82 to $1.92 per share. Analysts expect the company to report fiscal 2015 earnings per share of $1.88.

The company's Board declared a quarterly dividend on Common Stock of 33 cents per share, payable October 15, 2015, to holders of record at the close of business on September 24, 2015.
