Physicians Meet in Historic Charleston to Address Health Issues Problematic to the Southeastern United States

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Sept. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Carolinas-Georgia-Florida Chapter of the American Society of Hypertension (ASH) has partnered with the Southern Medical Association (SMA) to offer you an outstanding accredited CME opportunity at the Charleston Marriott in Charleston, South Carolina, November 2, 2018. The goal of this symposium is to address health issues that are particularly problematic in the southeastern United States.

Symposium attendees will receive up to 6.75 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM designed to meet their medical licensing or professional requirements. The symposium, organized by Dr. Daniel T. Lackland of Charleston, South Carolina, and Dr. Donald DiPette of Columbia, South Carolina, will incorporate adult learning methods including lecture presentations supported by learner discussions. Dr. Lackland is currently the Professor of Epidemiology at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is the principal investigator for the NIH-funded Black Pooling Project assessing the disparities in cardiovascular diseases and hypertension. Dr. DiPette is currently the Health Sciences Distinguished Professor at the University of South Carolina and the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, South Carolina.

The symposium lectures will focus on improving identification and management of hypertension and diabetes problematic to the southeastern United States. Drs.
