Perspecta Gets $787 Mln Contract Extension From U.S. Department Of The Navy

(RTTNews) - Perspecta Inc. (PRSP), a U.S. government services provider, said it has received a $787 million contract extension from the U.S. Department of the Navy for the continuation of IT services.

Perspecta currently provides to the Navy under the Next Generation Enterprise Network or NGEN contract. As originally awarded, the NGEN contract would have expired on September 30, 2018. The award allows Perspecta to continue providing services for an additional year, through September 2019.

Under NGEN, Perspecta operates the Navy Marine Corps Intranet or NMCI, the world's largest intranet, with about 300,000 seats representing 700,000 Navy and Marine Corps uniformed and civilian users, largely within the continental United States.

Perspecta noted that as the Navy plans for the transition to the next competition for delivering NMCI enterprise services, known as NGEN-R, this award is part of a planned extension. The company said that a modification to add an option for an additional eight-month extension is also expected to be awarded.
