(RTTNews) - Penn National Gaming, Inc. (PENN) recorded net loss of $12.18 million, or $0.16 a share in the second quarter, versus a $66.67 million, or $0.63 a share profit, a year back. On average, 20 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $0.62 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Net revenues for the quarter grew to $761.37 million, from $712.55 million in the year-ago period. Analysts estimated revenues of $769.62 million for the quarter.

Looking ahead to the 2013 third quarter, the company sees net income of $44.1 million, or $0.43 a share and net revenues of $714.1 million.

For the full year 2013, net income is currently projected to be $141.3 million, or $1.37 a share, while net revenues are likely to be $2.98 billion.
