Omnicare Announces Executive Appointments

Omnicare, Inc. (NYSE:OCR), a leading provider of pharmaceutical care for the elderly, today announced Erin E. Ascher has been appointed Vice President – Human Resources, and Timothy J. Hopkins has been appointed Vice President – Trade Relations.

Erin Ascher is responsible for leading Omnicare’s human resources function, including designing and implementing strategies in the areas of attracting, retaining, developing and rewarding employees.

Prior to joining Omnicare, Ms. Ascher served as Vice President of Human Resources for Prime Therapeutics, LLC, a pharmacy benefit management company based in Minneapolis, MN, that provides pharmacy benefits through retail, mail order, specialty and clinical programs. Before that, Ms. Ascher was Vice President of Human Resources with the International Sector for Ecolab, Inc., the global leader in cleaning, sanitizing, food safety and infection prevention products and services. Ms. Ascher brings more than 20 years of experience in human resources and talent development to Omnicare.

Ms. Ascher received a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and a Master of Science degree in Human Resources from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia.

Timothy Hopkins is responsible for overseeing Omnicare’s pharmacy network contracting, administration and payor relations.

Prior to joining Omnicare, Mr. Hopkins served as Vice President of PBM Operations and Chief Operating Officer for Wellpoint NextRx, a former wholly owned subsidiary of WellPoint, Inc., where he managed mail service pharmacy, business development, supply chain management, client integration and Medicare business operations. Before that, Mr. Hopkins held several other executive positions for Wellpoint, Inc., including Vice President of Retail & Mail Service Operations for WellPoint NextRx and Executive Director of Retail, Mail Service, and Specialty Pharmacy for Wellpoint. Mr. Hopkins brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in pharmacy and healthcare management to Omnicare.

Mr. Hopkins received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Pharmacy from the University of Cincinnati and a Master of Business Administration degree from Xavier University College of Business. Mr. Hopkins is a Registered Pharmacist in Ohio.
