Old Republic International Q3 Profit Down - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Property and casualty insurance company Old Republic International Corp. (ORI) Thursday reported lower profit for the third quarter, reflecting higher expenses and reduced net premiums and fee income. The company's profit dropped to $85.8 million or $0.30 per share from $102.9 million or $0.36 per share last year. On average, four analysts polled by Thomson-Reuters estimated the company's earnings to be $0.27 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items. Total quarterly revenues edged down to $1.369 billion from $1.374 billion a year ago. Analysts expected revenues of $1.32 billion. Net premiums and fees earnings decreased to $1.256 billion from $1.272 billion last year. Total expenses grew to $1.269 billion from $1.229 billion last year.
