North American ag co-op navigates South American growth
ST. PAUL, Minn., July 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Stereotypes of agriculture in South America are quickly falling away as countries such as Argentina, Brazil and even land-locked Paraguay become major global sources for corn, soybeans and wheat in the lead story of C – Your CHS Connection, the magazine published by CHS Inc. (NASDAQ: CHSCP) for its grower-owners and other stakeholders.
"South America has become a player in other grains, including barley and sunflowers, too," explains Stefano Rettore, senior vice president of South American operations for CHS.
The article, Southern Star, explores the last decade of growth in the region for CHS and its member-owners as the cooperative looks to the south as the way to keep global customers like China with a year-round supply of grains and oilseeds.
C magazine is published bimonthly – in print and online – by CHS Inc. a leading global agribusiness owned by farmers, ranchers and cooperatives across the United States.
