Nordson Results Miss Estimates; Q4 Guidance Weak

(RTTNews) - Precision dispensing equipment maker Nordson Corp (NDSN) on Thursday reported third-quarter net earnings of $69.4 million or $1.14 per share compared with $77.9 million or $1.21 per share last year.

Excluding items, adjusted earnings for the quarter were $1.16 per share compared with $1.20 per share ayear ago.

Revenues for the quarter were $462.7 million compared with $458.6 million in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $1.25 per share on revenues of $476.3 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

For the fourth quarter, the company expects earnings of $1.00 to $1.12 per share, while analysts expect $1.23 per share.
