Nomura Q1 Profit Jumps - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - Financial services provider Nomura Holdings Inc.'s (NMR) first quarter net income attributable to NHI shareholders surged to 65.9 billion yen, or $664 million, from last year's 1.9 billion yen. Quarterly income before income taxes totaled 113.2 billion yen, or $1.1 billion, the company said.
Net revenue in the first quarter was 431.3 billion yen, or $4.3 billion, versus the prior-year figure of 369.3 billion yen, up 16.8%. Retail reported net revenue climbed by 101.1% year-over-year to 166.3 billion yen, from 82.7 billion yen, chiefly due to increased sales performances of equities and investment trusts as a result of active equity markets.
Three-month net revenue in Asset Management grew 23% year-over-year to 20.2 billion yen, due mainly to increase of assets under management.
