Multiple Atlanta Streets Closed Near Fox Theatre for BET HIP-HOP AWARDS on Sunday, November 12th
ATLANTA, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- As the city of Atlanta prepares to host BET Networks' inaugural BET HIP-HOP AWARDS at the historic Fox Theatre on November 12, event organizers and city officials have announced a traffic management plan that involves street closures in the midtown Atlanta area and near Turner Field. The number of closures will gradually increase starting today through the actual made-for-television event on Sunday evening.
The following street closures will be in effect at various times until Midnight on Sunday, November 12th:
PONCE DE LEON * Closed: Ponce De Leon from Peachtree Street to West Peachtree Street; East and Westbound lanes; 8:00 am, Thursday, November 9th until Midnight, Sunday, November 12th; * Closed: Ponce De Leon from Juniper Street to Peachtree Street; East and Westbound lanes; 6 a.m. to Midnight on Sunday November 12th; * Closed: South curb lane of Ponce De Leon between West Peachtree Street and Spring Street; 6:00 am to Midnight on Sunday, November 12th; PEACHTREE STREET * Closed: Peachtree Street from 3rd Avenue to North Avenue; North and Southbound lanes; 4 a.m. to Midnight on Sunday, November 12th; * Closed: Peachtree Street between 4th Street and North Avenue; North and Southbound lanes; Noon to Midnight on Sunday, November 12th; 3RD STREET * Closed: 3rd Street between West Peachtree Street and Juniper Street; East and Westbound lanes; 8 a.m. to Midnight on Sunday, November 12th; WEST PEACHTREE STREET * Closed: Two (2) Northbound Lanes from North Avenue to 3rd Street; Noon to Midnight on Sunday, November 12th. RALPH DAVID ABERNATHY BOULEVARD (Near Turner Field) * Closed: Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard between Hank Aaron Drive and Pollard Boulevard; 8:00 pm on Sunday, November 12th until 3:00 a.m. on Monday, November 13th. The intersection of Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard and Hank Aaron Drive and the intersection of Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard and Pollard Boulevard will operate under police direction.
