Mueller Industries Q3 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Mueller Industries Inc. (MLI) reported third-quarter net income of $39.86 million or $1.41 per share, compared to $15.51 million or $0.41 per share, last year. Excluding non-recurring items, net income was $19.53 million, or $0.69 per share for the quarter.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.91 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net sales increased to $528.85 million, from $514.16 million, a year ago. The company said the increase in net sales was principally due to a 6.6 percent overall increase in unit volumes offset somewhat by lower copper costs that impacted the selling prices of the company's products.
