    BLUE BELL, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 10, 2005--

Managed Services to Drive IT Operations and Cost Efficiencies for Regional Transit Leader

Unisys Corporation (NYSE:UIS) today announced that it has received a contract from NYC Transit to provide desktop support services. The contract has a potential value to Unisys of up to $143 million, with an estimated value of $105 million for the initial five-year term and $38 million for an optional two-year extension. The services will enable NYC Transit to streamline IT operations, enhance support for employees and reduce IT costs.
Unisys will provide the desktop and IT management and support services for the agency's approximately 12,000 PCs and 350 servers. This IT infrastructure supports many of the 48,000 employees in NYC Transit's 20-plus major departments and divisions.
NYC Transit is the largest agency in New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) regional transportation network. It operates the world's largest fleet of subway cars in addition to providing municipal bus service. Approximately seven million people use NYC Transit daily, with more than two billion rides provided to customers annually.
"NYC Transit is taking a leadership position among government agencies by capitalizing on infrastructure services to deliver value to citizens and create IT efficiencies throughout the organization - from the executive office to the subway station," said Janet B. Wallace, president, Unisys Global Infrastructure Services. "The Unisys solution for NYC Transit demonstrates how our strong emphasis on customer relationship management, recognized expertise in global services delivery and gain-sharing approach to reducing costs as IT infrastructure efficiency increases, can help further the goals of local governments and benefit their constituents."
Among the comprehensive infrastructure services Unisys will provide for NYC Transit are:

-- Service desk

-- Desk-side support

-- Server management

-- Asset management and tracking

-- Equipment maintenance

-- Dedicated program management office

-- E-procurement services. Through an intranet site, Unisys will procure computer desktop equipment for NYC Transit and manage its delivery and installation at sites across New York City's five boroughs.

    Forward Looking Statements

Any statements contained in this release that are not historical facts are forward-looking statements as defined in the Private Litigation Reform Act of 1995. All forward-looking statements rely on assumptions and are subject to various risks and uncertainties that could cause actual results to differ materially from expectations. The estimated total value of the contract assumes that the New York City Transit Authority, and its affiliated agencies, will continue the contract for the full initial five year term and exercise an option for an additional two years, which is entirely within their discretion, and will not exercise their contractual right to end the agreement at any time. In addition, the contract provides, under certain circumstances, for gain-sharing reductions in prices if certain efficiencies are achieved. The estimated total value is also based on assumptions about future volumes of products and services that will be ordered. Because the pricing and volumes may change, and the agreement may not continue for the full contract term, including extension years, the estimated value is not guaranteed. Additional discussion of factors that could affect Unisys future results is contained in periodic filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
