Mosaic Q4 Profit Surges - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Mosaic Co. (MOS) Thursday announced that fourth-quarter net earnings surged to $360.7 million or $0.97 per share from $128.9 million or $0.30 per share in the prior-year quarter.

Results for the latest quarter had a positive impact of $0.10 per share, including a discrete tax benefit.

Mosaic's net sales for the quarter increased to $2.38 billion from $2.18 billion in the same quarter last year. Analysts expected revenues of $2.54 billion.

Looking ahead to the first quarter of fiscal 2015, the company expects total sales volumes for the phosphates segment in a range of 2.8 to 3.1 million tonnes, and for the potash segment in the range of 2.0 to 2.3 million tonnes.

For fiscal 2015, the company projects phosphates sales volumes in the range of 14.5 to 15.0 million tonnes, and potash sales volumes in the range of 8.5 to 9.0 million tonnes.
