Moka Chooses Keynote's Mobile Application Perspective for Complete Visibility of Common Short Code Performance and Delivery
Keynote Systems (Nasdaq:KEYN), the global leader in on-demand mobile and
Internet test & measurement solutions for continuously improving the
online experience, today announced that Moka has selected Keynote’s
on-demand Mobile Application Perspective®
technology for Common
Short Code (CSC) SMS monitoring. Keynote’s
first-of-its-kind Common Short Code monitoring service was created based
on the growing industry demand for a solution that offers increased
visibility into the performance, availability and delivery of messages
sent via Common Short Codes.
Moka’s real-time multi-lingual communications
solutions offer users the ability to send a word or sentence in English
as a text message to Moka’s server. Moka’s
server then sends back to the user the text message translated into
Spanish or Chinese. Alternatively, a user can use Moka to send a message
to another user in English and have it translated to Spanish or Chinese.
Moka is rolling out its product to millions in China thanks to its
partnership with Mobile Multimedia and is testing its functionality with
China Mobile, one of the largest carriers in the world. Moka will also
be launching its Spanish service in the US. This powerful functionality
occurs via a Common Short Code SMS. Leveraging Keynote’s
Mobile Application Perspective technology, Moka is using emulated
handsets to continuously send and receive messages for full visibility
into the performance and delivery of its Common Short Codes service.
Additionally, Keynote’s solutions enable Moka
to assess the performance of its SMS aggregator to better assure it is
meeting its SLA.
"Our customers rely on timely and dependable
message delivery,” said Michael Donahue, CEO
and co-founder of Moka. "By using Keynote’s
Mobile Application Perspective technology for Common Short Code
monitoring, Moka has full visibility into the end-user experience and
quality of service enabling it to ensure the best possible customer
experience.” "Using Keynote, Moka has complete visibility
into the performance of its Common Short Code service and is also able
to gauge which SMS aggregator best supports the company’s
objectives and goals,” explained Shlomi Gian,
director of mobile business development at Keynote.
Common Short Codes represent a fast-growing channel offering direct
communication with consumers, anytime and anywhere through a common
medium – Short Message Service (SMS). Common
Short Codes are four to six digit numeric codes to which text messages
can be sent from a mobile phone to access or buy mobile content (e.g.
horoscopes, games, ring tones, etc.), vote for your favorite TV
personality, participate in a poll, and more. Common Short Codes can be
leased by any company looking to interact with hundreds of millions of
wireless consumers.
"Until now, many companies have been in the
dark in regard to the delivery time and success rates of their Common
Short Code service,” said Manny Gonzalez,
senior director of mobile technology at Keynote. "Given
the rise in the number of companies leveraging Common Short Code SMS as
an integral element of their business model, we created this
first-of-its-kind service that can accurately measure the performance,
reliability and round-trip delivery time of a Common Short Code
transaction. The interest we’ve seen in this
new service thus far is both impressive and promising.”
Keynote also announced at CTIA that it will introduce the industry’s
first study on the performance of Common Short Codes (CSCs). Using the
company’s on-demand Mobile Application
Perspective® monitoring service, Keynote’s
comprehensive study will calculate the roundtrip delivery time, success
rate and reliability of 25 independent Common Short Codes and rank the
Short Message Service (SMS) aggregators based on the performance and
availability of their implemented Common Short Codes. For more
