(RTTNews) - MKS Instruments, Inc. (MKSI) Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $20.2 million or $0.38 per share, compared to $4.1 million, or $0.08 per share in the prior year period.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter was $22.3 million or $0.42 per share, compared to $5.1 million or $0.10 per share in the comparable quarter last year. On average, eight analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.36 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
