Michael Anderson Joins Echelon Executive Team as Sr. VP for Smart Grid Sales
Echelon Corporation (NASDAQ:ELON) today announced the appointment of Michael Anderson to the role of Senior Vice President responsible for smart grid sales and go-to-market strategies to utilities worldwide. He will report directly to Echelon president and chief executive officer, Robert Maxfield.
"Michael brings more than 15 years' global experience developing and delivering market leading strategies for innovative software and hardware infrastructure solutions," said Maxfield. "His leadership and expertise will help our utility customers develop and execute their Smart Grid vision. With his proven experience in building sales teams and channels, we look forward to accelerating our utility business worldwide."

Anderson brings to Echelon a long career of successful sales and market leadership. Anderson most recently served as president of Telcordia’s Next-Generation Software Division. Anderson has also held senior roles at a variety of high growth and established telecommunication companies. These include ADC Software Systems, as well as Big Planet and Telismart, companies that he founded and ran after beginning his career at AT&T. He was recently noted as one of the Global Telecom Business top 100 industry executives. Anderson earned a BA in Political Science from the University of Washington in Seattle and completed a fellowship at the Georgetown University Law Center.
Anderson replaces Frits Bruggink, who plans to leave the company to pursue other interests after helping Anderson transition into his new role.
