Mary Ann Hynes Joins Corn Products International as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
WESTCHESTER, Ill., March 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Corn Products International, Inc. , a leading global provider of agriculturally derived ingredients to diversified industries, announced today that its board of directors has elected Mary Ann Hynes, 58, as vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, and an officer of the Company, effective immediately. In this capacity, Hynes will oversee the Company's legal and regulatory affairs, as well as serve as corporate secretary to the board.
Hynes, who reports to Sam Scott, chairman, president and chief executive officer, succeeds Marcia E. Doane, 64, who will retire in May 2006. Doane has been elected vice president and senior legal counsel to the chief executive officer and will assist Hynes in an advisory and consultative capacity during the transition period.
Prior to joining Corn Products International, Hynes served as senior vice president and general counsel, chief legal officer for IMC Global Inc. of Lake Forest, Ill., from 1999-2004. She previously was senior vice president, general counsel and secretary for Sundstrand Corporation of Rockford, Ill., from 1998-99 and general counsel, chief legal officer for Wolters Kluwer U.S. Corporation in Riverwoods, Ill., from 1996-98. Hynes joined the legal department of CCH Incorporated, also of Riverwoods, Ill., in 1971 and served as the company's vice president and general counsel from 1979-95.
Hynes holds a bachelor's degree in political science and mathemetics from Loyola University; Juris Doctorate and master of laws - taxation degree from the John Marshall Law School; and an Executive MBA from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Business. She was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1971.
Hynes is a director of The Doctor Scholl Foundation, The Association of Corporate Counsel and the Women's Bar Foundation. She also is a member of the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar, the Chicago Bar Association, the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals, the Lawyer's Club of Chicago, the Northwestern Corporate Counsel Institute and the North Shore General Counsel Association.
