Liquid Fuel Nuclear Reactors at the John Glenn School of Public Affairs
HANOVER, N.H., Aug. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Liquid Fuel Nuclear Reactors, low-cost clean energy to spark economic growth and solve the climate/energy/poverty crises, is a featured presentation at the John Glenn School of Public Affairs forum on Opportunities in Nuclear Power. Speaker Dr. Robert Hargraves focuses on the importance of low-cost clean energy to undersell coal.

Coal is the primary source of CO2 emissions leading to climate change. Developing nations desperately need electric power to rise out of poverty. Clean wind and solar energy is too intermittent and too expensive to displace coal. Global coal combustion for electric power is set to double, not diminish. Developing nations, especially, can not afford to increase energy costs with carbon taxes.
Over 60 nuclear power plants are under construction worldwide, but generally today's nuclear power plants are too expensive to economically replace coal. If the cost of nuclear power can be lowered enough, economic self-interest will lead nations to stop burning coal. The innovative technology of liquid fuel reactors may provide the disruptive cost innovation that can address both coal CO2 emissions and energy poverty.
Lowering the costs of energy can also spur industrial growth, increasing GDP, with productivity providing a path out of the debt crisis now affecting all economies.
