Lions Gate Intends To Explore Potential Combination With Starz - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Lions Gate Entertainment (LGF), the film studio behind the "Hunger Games" franchise, in a regulatory filing, said Thursday that it intends to explore whether there is a potential mutually beneficial combination with cable movie network Starz (STRZA).

In a filing with the US Securities And Exchange Commission, Lions Gate said it intends to have discussions with Starz, its affiliates, and other persons about potential combinations that may involve stock or a combination of stock and cash.

According to Lions Gate, any such combination should recognize the relative values of both companies and that the benefits of a transaction should be shared appropriately by both companies' shareholders.

There can be no assurance that there is or will be any such combination, it said.

Lions Gate own approximately 2.26% of the outstanding Series A Shares, and approximately 26.32% of the outstanding Series B Shares of Starz.
